The Warren, Folkestone Walkabout Report Page 2 of 2 19:40 Still
on top of the railway embankment, Sarah sensed a little girl, aged six
or seven, who had been following us up the track from the concrete
apron below. Jake, who had previously picked-up on a small child of
the same age, had not mentioned this to anyone but had put it in his
audio notes at that time.
Bryn was picking-up on something which he described as "half charged". 19:45 We
continued walking towards the direction of Folkestone and started to
descend back down to the level of the railway line where Jake sensed some
old caravans - not gypsy caravans but old holiday style ones from the
period of the 1930's. 19:47 As
we passed the compound, next to the railway line, Jake felt the
atmosphere change as if there was an "air of expectation" or something
was about to happen and described it as being "very creepy". 20:12 We
had left the track on the cliffs and had returned to the seawall where
we had originally started. We then continued along the seawall towards
the direction of Folkestone. The main concrete apron was now behind us
and we could see the Martello Tower in front and above on the cliff-top. At this point, Jake was feeling very uneasy and didn't feel at all comfortable. 20:24 At
the end of the seawall, we descended onto the beach where Jake sensed
we were being watched again but this time it was by persons from a much
earlier period. He could 'see' a three-masted sailing ship off shore with ropes leading to the beach. Again,
the sensation of being watched was very strong, in a "sneering kind of
way" almost as if those watching were taking pleasure from our
uneasiness. Looking towards the rocks, in the direction of
Folkestone, Jake could 'see' dark figures moving over them. These, he
sensed, were from a shipwreck, this ship had missed the safe haven of
the nearby harbour and had run aground. On-board had been a piano which
had made an awful noise whilst breaking up on the rocks. 20:51 Still on this beach and now closer to the rocks, Bob commented on a feeling of being watched. We continued to the end of the bay and then headed up the steps to the cliff-top. 20:59 Halfway
up these steps, Jake felt as though he was watching out for people and
relaying a message to someone by word of mouth - something like "It's
coming". Sarah and Bob detected a sulphur-like smell, similar to
an old match having been struck, however this may have been of natural
origin from the vegetation? 21:11 At
the top of the steps, we followed a little path back towards the
camp-site in the Dover direction and back down towards the seawall. Jake sensed they were being followed by something that was darting from tree to tree behind the group. 21:17 Further along this path we paused near the cliff's edge to get our bearings and Jake then 'heard' a sigh in his ear.
21:32 Eventually
the path brought us back onto the seawall to where several of the group
had sensed "something" earlier as we had walked past.
Jake
could 'hear' a voice telling him to jump off the seawall, it was saying
"Go on, do it" and he had to step back from the edge as, at this time,
the tide was out and there was a 15 - 20 foot drop! 21:34 Pictured right - a light anomaly. |

We walked back towards the concrete apron, where we had
originally started, where Bryn and Keef pointed out some of the stars
that had become visible. Several shooting stars were also sighted. 22.00 Walkabout ended. < Page 1
