Saturday 8th October, 2011.
Written by Bob.
Group: Keef, Karl, Sue, Sarah and Bob.
19:00
Arrived at St. Martin's Battery and proceeded to walk around the
perimeter of the structure.
Sue and Sarah felt as though the first sections of the lower level,
nearest the car park, were originally used for storage but further
down, at the far end, this had been used to house prisoners at some
point.
Karl was getting the impression of a guard/sentry
stood in that area.
19:11
Pictured right - a light anomaly at this far end - probably moisture?
19:18
Keef reported that his camera had just operated of its own accord but
examination of this photo revealed nothing unusual.
Bob caught a brief odour like a woman's
perfume and, a few seconds later, Keef detected what he described as a
"fruity smell".

19:20
Sue was unsure if she had just been pushed or it was due to her standing
on uneven ground.
Karl reported seeing something move, left to
right, above one of the arches.
19:35
The group moved around to the front of the structure, to the upper
level, and into the gun emplacement furthest from the car park.
Sue and Sarah described the atmosphere here as
"very heavy".
Note: this was
directly above the lower section where it was felt that prisoners had
been housed.
19:41
Sarah reported hearing what sounded like Morse Code coming from the
direction of the car park.
19:44
We moved into the middle gun emplacement.
Sue remarked that she felt very unsteady on her feet but, again,
suspected it may be due to the uneven ground.
19:50
We moved into the last gun emplacement - nothing to report.
20:25
As we returned from the car park, following a break, to the nearest
section of the lower structure, Sue, Sarah and Karl remarked on how the
atmosphere had changed coming into this area.
20:29
An EVP session was commenced but later examination of this recording
revealed nothing unusual.
During this session, Sarah got the year "1853".
20:31
We moved inside the arched room (pictured right) approximately halfway
along the lower structure.
20:35
Sue picked-up on the presence of a woman who was probably unaware of us.
As Sarah asked-out, she heard a small squeak
(no obvious evidence of any wildlife in this room).

20:38
Bob reported hearing several footsteps as though someone was walking up
stone steps.
There were some steps nearby but no physical person was in that area at
this time.
20:40
There had been no activation of Karl's K2 Meter so it was placed on the
floor of this room and we all moved a short distance away from it.
Sue, who had been just inside the doorway, had to
move outside after she felt as though she was going to choke or be
choked.
20:41
The K2 Meter was placed where Sue had been.
20:45
It was sensed that a military person was present.
An EVP session was commenced, during which it was also asked for their
rank and serial number if they had one. Later examination of this
recording revealed nothing unusual.
During this session, Sarah got the number "21" and Sue got "27".
20:49
Sue reported seeing a light at the back of this room and Karl remarked
that he kept seeing "sparks of light".
20:51
Sue felt there had been something here when we first arrived but it had
now gone.
20:54
Sue thought she had seen a brief figure down at the next section when
she had switched on her torch.
We moved to this area where Sue described the atmosphere as different
and unnerving.
21:00
Sue threw a small stone inside the gate and asked for it to be returned
but there was no response.
Several of the group felt as though we were being
watched from further up towards the car park.
21:03
Sarah sensed this was a soldier who was watching us, she could 'see'
his top half, he was dressed in a red coat and had a tall hat with a
peak. There had been no indications on the K2 Meter.
21:08
Passing the anti-aircraft bunker (pictured right), we moved to the
upper level at the front and into the gun emplacement furthest from the
car park.
Sarah thought she heard some footsteps.
Pictured below, right - a light
anomaly in the gun emplacement.
21:17
Due to noise contamination and human activity from the car park we decided to
move to our secondary location.

21:28
We entered the dry-moat of the Drop Redoubt Fort.
21:37
Karl thought he had heard a distant-sounding voice possibly in response
to Sarah asking-out.
21:48
Sue saw a small light moving up the wall (no torches were on at this
time).
21:55
We located outside of the Fort's front door.
Bob had the name "Francis Rutherford" pop into his head along with
"architect".
