Sceptical Analysis by
Bob
What was sensed by psychic/mediumship means seems to indicate there
was paranormal activity at this location.
Ignoring the above, as sceptics do, this still proved to be a very
interesting investigation.
Some of what was heard can probably be attributed to sounds carrying
from the nearby town or to the heavy diesel engine noise from the
nearby port - one instance of detected infrasound seemed to be linked
to a ferry starting-up. However, this wouldn't account for the other
sounds such as the dragging and the various footsteps for which we
could offer no "natural" explanation.
The intermittent strong draughts that were evident in the various
Caponniers had a relatively obvious non-paranormal origin - the weather
conditions on the night were slightly breezy with the wind direction
into the Barracks, the large area of each Barracks acting as a funnel
and concentrating the air movement down the narrow stair tunnels into
the Caponniers below.
Sceptical Conclusions
by Bob
There was no conclusive evidence of any paranormal activity, there
are still some currently unexplained occurrences which definitely
warrant a return visit for further investigation and research.
Please note: for reasons of
future verification, all names and ranks of presences picked-up on
during the investigation have been omitted from the reports.
