Sunday February 10th, 2008.
Group: Sarah, Sue, Bob, Dawn, Jen, Jessica, Hannah and Josh.
The weather was lovely, more
like summer rather than a winter's day, we couldn't have asked for
better.
After arriving at Martin Mill railway station, we made our way down
country roads until we eventually reached St. Margaret's Bay where
we had a picnic lunch. Jessica and Hannah were then dispatched on
Sue's behalf to scour the beach for any amethyst.

Moving on, we discovered a couple
of caves to explore. Some of us went into one where I sensed
there were some soldiers who were sitting down having a cup
of tea, this I felt was residual energy.
I would like to return to these caves in the near future to
do a more detailed investigation.

As the tide was in, we made our way
up a flight of steps and onto the cliff-top from where we headed
east towards the war memorial and a cup of tea at the tea-rooms
in what was once the Coastguard lookout.

The inscription reads:
To the Dover Patrol 1914 - 1919 and to the Officers and Men
of the Royal Navy and Merchant Navy who gave their lives in
ships sailing upon the waters of the Dover Strait 1939 - 1945.
From here, following public rights-of-way,
we headed inland towards Otty Bottom and Oxney Bottom.
Despite having two maps and a compass we still managed to nearly
get lost but, more worryingly, even the locals didn't seem to
know the way!
