Walkabout Report
Palm Bay

Written by Sarah and Bob.

Saturday 16th February, 2008.
Group: Sarah, Bob, Sue, Dawn, Jen and Bryn.

We decided this area warranted an investigation following a report from a member of the public about what he had witnessed.
On one occasion, late at night, he had been walking in the area when he saw three orange lights which seemed to be following the route of the cliff-top, in a Margate to Broadstairs direction, before disappearing.
On a subsequent occasion, he had been walking his dog on the promenade below when he saw, in the distance, four men walking towards him with what looked like large rucksacks on their backs, hanging below the waistline.
Following some research, he established that during WWII an American bomber, which had been damaged in combat, had flow along the cliffs before crashing into Foreness Point.
Could these orange lights have been from this plane?
Could these four men, he had seen, been some of the crew who perished in the crash?
Could what he described as being "large rucksacks", have been their un-deployed parachutes?

We set off along the cliff-top towards Foreness Point, on arrival we descended the slope to the promenade below.

Sarah took some photos and had a feeling that some one was stood next to her - but no physical person was.

Pictured right and below - various light anomalies captured in the area around this slope.

Following a break for coffee, we walked on in the direction of Margate, pausing now and again so Bryn could point out some of the stars and planets.
Dawn and Sarah were in front when they heard a whistling sound.

At one point, Bob, who had knowledge of an unconnected incident, asked if anyone was sensing anything in a particular area but unfortunately no one was able to pick-up on it.

Bryn and Bob were some distance behind the main group. Bryn was looking at a bucket which had been washed up on the beach and thought Bob was stood next to him but, when he turned to the right in order to speak to Bob, there was no one there. Bob was a few yards away to his left but Bryn was sure someone had been standing next to him. Thinking it might have been Bob's shadow from the moonlight, they experimented but from where Bob had been stood, his shadow couldn't have reached Bryn's position.

This photo (pictured right) taken immediately after this event shows various light anomalies to the right of Bryn in the area he thought someone had been stood.

Bryn stated that he didn't feel any fear or shock at the time and initially thought he was genuinely mistaken but he did get an impression of a light-tan colour and possibly some form of a hat. If indeed it was a human form then they were slightly shorter than himself.
