Walkabout Report
St. Peter's and Mockett's Wood

Thursday 19th June, 2008.

Group: Sarah, Sue, Dawn, Bob, Julie and Paul.

Wrtten by Bob.

20:20
Commenced walkabout with a stroll around the churchyard.

20:41
At the arch, Sarah sensed a female presence, wearing a long black dress which extended to the ground with a white pinafore over the top. Sarah couldn't see anything above this.
Sue had a feeling of great sadness.

Towards the rear of the churchyard, Sue felt the presence of a male named "James".

20:50
Pictured below - two photos of the sunset taken 3 minutes apart, each showing what appears to be a "black object" (uncertain if this is a product of the camera?).

21:20
Made our way to Mockett's Wood.

21:37
Once in the woods and close to the far side near to the circle of tree trunks, Dawn picked-up on a boy named "James" or "Jamie" who she felt was aged between 15 and 16. Sue felt this was the same "James" she had detected earlier in the churchyard and he had followed us into the woods.

21:45
Approaching the circle of tree trunks, Sarah sensed a bearded male who was wearing white gloves.

21:58
As we came around the track to turn right, Bob and Julie simultaneously saw a figure on the footpath to the left and Julie also heard a hum in her ear - insect?
Although brief, Bob got the impression this figure was a male, light in colour with broad shoulders.
Having made our way to the location of the sighting, there was no physical person evident in the vicinity.
Sarah took several photographs shortly afterwards showing various light anomalies in this area (pictured below).

The temperature was also felt to have dropped significantly but this could have been natural as there was less vegetation in this area to screen us from the breeze.

Still stood in this area, Sue and Dawn simultaneously sensed an "Arthur" to be present, Sue felt he was laughing at us.
After this event, Bob was dictating this into his voice recorder as notes for this report. Between finishing doing so and switching the recorder off, a possible EVP was captured - sounding like a male voice whispering "Arthur wake up":

Note: a week or so later Bob returned to the churchyard and located a gravestone inscribed to an "Arthur Mockett" - the family associated with this woodland.

22:04
Bob briefly detected an unusual smell which he thought resembled either Jeyes Fluid or new leather.

22:08
Sarah was still sensing the bearded male and then heard a cough.
Sue picked-up on a man who had a connection to horses, he had rolled-up shirt sleeves and was wearing, what she described as, something similar to a long, brown leather waistcoat - Bob suggested possibly a blacksmith / farrier and what Sue was seeing was a leather apron?

22:10
Bob got a touching sensation in his lower back, no one was close enough to have knocked him and there were no branches or other objects which could have been responsible.
Sue asked-out and immediately Sarah felt a cold sensation on her back.
Several of the group reported hearing indistinct whispering.

With the voice recorder running, an EVP session was commenced during which questions were asked and requests for speech were made.
As Bob asked for the year, Sarah sensed "1815".
Later examination of this recording revealed nothing unusual.
