Thanet GhostWatch Property Investigation
Report
The Granville Theatre, Ramsgate
Page 2
23:13
On stage, a Table Tipping session commenced.
It was decided to remove the control device until the table began
to move. Sue then began to call-out to "Frederick", whom
it was believed contributed to the movement of the table during the
previous investigation at this location.
23:20
Keef's camera batteries were found to be
drained despite having been freshly charged.
23:23
Jake left the table as he was feeling drained
by spirit.
Sarah asked "Frederick" to move the table and Sue reported
a slight movement, although she couldn't be sure.
23:26
Bob heard movement from the rear of the auditorium,
near to the door to the corridor that leads directly into the cinema,
but no physical person was in that area at this time.
23:30
Sarah heard heavy breathing and, a few minutes
later, Sue asked if anyone had noticed a drop in the light levels,
but the general consensus of the rest of the group was uncertain.
Despite various verbal encouragements from the Sue, the table failed
to make any significant movements.
Jake picked-up on a "Charles" and Sue thought she heard
heavy breathing.
23:33
At this time, Keef's voice recorder in the
Ladies' Toilets, picked-up various noises which sound like a cubicle
door knocking against the cubicle partition and possibly a door latch
operating (although these sounds were not discovered until long after
the investigation when all the recordings were analysed).
Camera 3 shows the cubicle doors still in their open positions during
this time and no physical person was present in this area. Additionally,
Camera 1 shows everyone accounted for and on stage.
These sound clips are included in the compilation
which can be found at the end of this report.
With little signs of the table wanting
to move, the Table Tipping was abandoned and asking-out commenced.
Jen reported briefly seeing a figure stood at the rear of the auditorium,
by the door to the corridor that leads to the bar, - no physical person
was in this area at this time.
23:37
In an attempt to get some activity on stage,
Bob went to each dressing room, in turn, to announce "they"
were wanted on stage for curtain-up.
Sue and Jake simultaneously reported "seeing" the "lighting
technician", from the previous investigation, as he moved across
the balcony from one lighting box to the other.
Sue was convinced she had seen movement by the screen, that had moved
on our previous visit, however, when Bob checked, the screen had not
moved.
Sarah reported a touching sensation on her leg.
23:39
A door was heard to bang but, on investigation,
was found to be the metal shutters on the outside of the fire doors
banging in the wind.
Dave and Keef left the main group in order to investigate backstage.
23:42
Jake sensed "Frederick" was popping
in and out and he was shouting at Sue in frustration to be heard.
He felt "Frederick's" energy was much weaker this time but
he wasn't sure why. "Frederick" had earlier attempted to
take his energy and that was the reason why Jake had to leave the
table.
Jake sensed "Frederick" wanted to communicate but wasn't
able to, possibly something electrical in the building could have
been hampering his attempts?
23:47
The group split into two teams, some remained
on stage whilst the rest moved into the corridor at the side of the
stage and to the top of the steps leading down to the lower fire-escape
doors.
Near to these fire-escape doors,
Jake sensed a male from WWII who had been an air-raid warden or firewatcher.
He had been injured during an air-raid as he attempted to get civilians
undercover, he had been hit in the leg, severing an artery, and had
died later in Ramsgate hospital.
This was not a spirit as this person had fully crossed-over, this
was residual energy replaying the events.
23:51
Jake "smelt" cigarette smoke which
he felt was associated to a former member of staff who had invited
a female passer-by to have a look backstage some 20 or 30 years ago.
This area, on the stairs and near the doors, Jake felt, had often
been used by staff for ciggie-breaks and there was a lot of residual
energy of conversations, audiences leaving by this route and even
a baby having been conceived on these stairs!
23:55
Jake also sensed this area had been used
in the past as a store for a bicycle with advertising on it. There
was also the residual energy of a man associated with this bike who
often bragged about being the manager but he was just an odd-job-man
who worked for various establishments in the local area.
Sarah briefly detected the odour of perfume and Julie reported she
could smell cigarette smoke.
23:57
We moved back up the corridor and relocated
directly under the lighting box.
Via walkie-talkie, those that had remained on the stage reported hearing
a door close and several beeps which may have been the beam alarm?
00:04
Jake recounted how the lighting technician,
picked-up on the previous investigation, had accidentally hung himself
and Bob briefly detected a strong perfume odour.
00:06
Having relocated to the stage, Jake could
"see" various figures, dressed in dinner-jackets, moving
around but he wasn't certain if it was more than one or the same person
"appearing" in different locations.
