The Lynch
Walkabout Investigation Report

Team 2

Written by Claire.

21:44
Our Team remained at base camp whilst Team 1 followed the path back.

21:49
Claire thought she had heard a galloping sound behind her. No one else heard this although Keith stated that he had heard a similar sound a few times as we had initially walked along the path earlier.

21:52
Keef was startled by a noise from behind him, but he couldn't tell what it was, and nobody had been standing behind him at this time.

22:01
Several of the team agreed that it seemed to be too quiet as there was no breeze or any noises from wildlife.

22:10
Claire reported hearing what sounded like two pieces of metal being banged together, this seemed to be quite close to her.

Sarah asked-out but with no obvious response.

22:12
Keith stated that he had just heard a metal-type sound next to him. He said it had sounded like the noise a bolt, on a gate, would make when being opened or closed.
Keith was about ten metres further down the path from Claire at this time, Claire agreed that this was what she had just heard a few minutes ago.

Sarah asked-out again, but with no obvious response.

22:31
Keith reported hearing a sound which he described as being similar to a hollow piece of wood being banged.

22:48
Claire said she thought she heard the sound of flowing water, even though there was no river nearby.

23:00
Team 1 returned to base camp and our team set off along the top path.

23:04
Both Julie and Claire, at the same time, heard a whining noise but could not determine what it was.

23:06
The team were now about a quarter of the way along the path when Claire heard what she thought were horse hooves. This was also heard by Jen and Julie so the group decided to stand still and quiet for a few minutes.

23:09
We continued walking.

23:11
Sarah heard a sound behind her and Claire had the feeling that they were being watched by something from the bank above and to the right of the path.
Keith felt it could be men on horseback.
Claire suspected that they had been following the group for a while.

Keith remarked that he felt it had got colder, but this could be put down to the fact that there was a slight clearing in the woods at this point.

23:15
Now approximately halfway along the top path, Sarah reported hearing what sounded like chanting.

Claire described the atmosphere as having become more oppressive.

23:18
The team stopped at a clearing and Keef used his voice recorder to start an instant EVP question and answer session.
He asked various questions and played this back but nothing unusual was captured that we could hear.
When Keef had asked "What date is it", Sarah had the date "1856" come into her head.

The group stood still for a few moments.

23:20
Claire thought she heard a man talking softly, but could not make out what was being said.

Sarah and Keith heard thumping on the path.
Keith then heard rustling in the bushes, although this could be attributed to any wildlife in the vicinity.

23:21
Keef asked "In the name of the King, show yourself", this phrase had been suggested by Jake before we had left base camp.
Nothing unusual was observed or heard, but Keef pointed out that this was recommended to be asked along the bottom path instead.

Keith reported he was experiencing a pain in his lower back.
A moment later, Jen stated that she too had a similar pain.

23:25
As the team continued walking, Julie heard what she described as a "hollow thud" next to her.

23:28
Most of the team heard a scream.
It was confirmed via walkie-talkie that it did not come from the other team, and that they had also heard it.

23:32
Nearing the end of the top path, Julie and Claire both heard what they thought was a man groaning quite close to them.

23:37
The team crossed onto the lower path and started heading back towards base camp.

23:41
Julie sensed that there would have been children playing in this part of the woods from around the 1940's or wartime.

23:42
As the team continued to walk, Claire thought she heard a sound similar to that of a bongo drum.
Julie felt this could have been residual energy from when the children would have played here, possibly from a game of 'Cowboys and Indians'.
Also at this time, Keith said he had heard a church bell toll twice.

23:44
The team were now about a third of the way along the bottom path when Jen, Sarah and Keith all felt lower back pain.
At this point, the group noticed that they were directly opposite the same point on the upper path where this pain sensation had occurred earlier.

23:49
Sarah, Jen and Claire all heard a thumping noise on the path, which seemed to follow the group momentarily.

23:53
The team were now just over half way along the path, next to the stile, when Keith stated that the atmosphere felt uneasy.
Everybody stood still whilst Keef asked-out again "In the name of the king, show yourself".
At this moment, Jen took a series of photos, a few seconds apart, which appear to have a mist-type anomaly 'dissipating'.

23:56
Julie stated that the phrase "For the love of God" had just come into her head.

00:04
As the team neared the end of the path, Jen and Keith both felt the same back pain as earlier, whilst Sarah said that she felt "very heavy".

00:09
On the approach back up towards the top path and base camp, both Keith and Claire heard the same running water sound as heard earlier.

00:10
Arrived back at base camp.
